“Just write,” is what they said.
Hahaha, easier said than done, where the hell do I start? Well, I guess right here is where I start…
I’m a mother, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a friend, a niece, a cousin. I thought I knew it all until I had my daughter and now I realise how much there still is to learn. I’m a career woman and I like to write… day I hope to turn that around I’m a writer and I like to work.
I love my family, I love food, I love my friends… I like to shop, I like (90s) music, I like trashy TV that I don’t tell anyone else about and I like books with happy endings.
I’m more summer than winter, sea-change not tree-change; I prefer wine over beer and AFL over soccer; I’m a dog person and I think the Beatles are better than the Stones. My daughter wears red, not pink, and I’ll encourage her to be a superhero rather than a fairy.
Just as anyone else who writes a blog clarifies, ‘this is a collection of my musings, not intended to polarise or even seek opinion from readers, but more a way for me to articulate what I’m feeling and thinking’. If someone reads and enjoys what I’ve babbled about, then that’s totally awesome, but this is just a selfish experiment – to see where it all lands and to ‘just write’.
“Sometimes you cannot believe what you see, you have to believe what you feel. And if you are ever going to have other people trust you, you must feel that you can trust them too-even when you are in the dark. Even when you’re falling.” — Tuesdays with Morrie, Mitch Albom
